Dulorme Eyes Puerto Rico Clash After Herrera Showdown

Top welterweight prospect Thomas Dulorme (14-0) returns to the ring tonight versus Alberto Herrera (8-6-1) at the Roseland Ballroom in New York.  The fight serves as the co-featured bout in the latest installment of Lou DiBella's Broadway Boxing Series.  A light heavyweight fight between Sean Monaghan and Romaro Johnson is the main event.

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with Dulorme, who is promoted by Gary Shaw, Javier Bustillo and DiBella under the Universal Promotions banner.  Dulorme last fought in February when he blew out Aris Ambriz (16-3-1) in the 1st round of their Showtime televised fight.  It has been a year since Dulorme last fought in New York and he is looking forward to the opportunity to fight in The Big Apple again.

"I am happy to be able to fight again in front of my fans in New York. I am building a good fan base in New York and I am excited that I am getting the opportunity to show them what I can do," Dulorme told BoxingScene.com.

The Carolina, Puerto Rico based fighter is widley regarded as the best prospect on the island.  Dulorme said that he is always looking to impress and he insists that other people's expectations don't put any additional pressure on him.

"I don't feel any more pressure.  I put pressure on myself.  I train hard so that I can give my fans a great show," Dulorme said. 

The 22-year old fighter also said that plans are being made for him to fight in Puerto Rico. Dulorme hasn't fought at home since February of last year and while he likes the idea of fighting in front of his friends and family, he said that all of his focus is on defeating Herrera tonight.

"I would love to fight in Puerto Rico again.  My promoters have told me that there is a good chance that after this fight my next fight will be in Puerto Rico but right now I am just concentrating on this fight," Dulorme revealed.

Dulorme ended on conversation with this message for his fans, "I want to thank all of my fans for their support and that I am going to fight very hard for them. I am going to carry the flag of Puerto Rico with pride."
