WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (30-1, 10KOs) is waiting for an agreement to be reached for a fight with WBC/WBO champion Nonito Donaire. Moreno was told the bout might happen on May 28 in California. He watched Donaire knock out Fernando Montiel in two rounds to capture the titles on February 19. Moreno was impressed, but there is no fear from the pride of Panama.

Golden Boy's rival, Top Rank Promotions, is looking to match Moreno in a unification with WBC/WBO champion Nonito Donaire (26-1, 18KOs). Moreno-Doniare would likely take place in May in San Francisco, California. Golden Boy and Top Rank have to taken part in a co-promotion since 2009. If Moreno signed a promotional deal with Golden Boy, it would cast serious doubts on a potential fight with the Top Rank-promoted Donaire.
