Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire has flatly denied a circulating story which claims that he is going to help Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios in his preparation for the upcoming clash with eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao in Macau on November 23.

Donaire had earlier indicated in a conversation with BoxingScene.com that he planned to start training at the Oxnard Gym under trainer Robert Garcia instead of training at the Undisputed Gym in San Carlos City or in Las Vegas.

The plan to train at Garcia’s gym meant he would be training alongside Rios as well as world featherweight champion and the trainer’s younger brother Mikey Garcia.

According to Rachel Donaire, the boxer's wife, the story about training alongside Rios was initially posted on the ABS-CBN website and Donaire himself requested the ABS-CBN news desk “to please delete and retract the story about helping Brandon Rios” adding that “it is misleading.”

In order to remove all insinuations or allegations that he is assisting  with the training of Rios, Donaire said “I will help by staying out of the way of Brandon’s training” but appeared upset that “its completely not what is being portrayed.”

Garcia was quoted as saying Donaire would not spar with Rios because "he is too small and Brandon is too big for Donaire plus Donairee is not a lefty so it will be difficult."

But Garcia indicated that Donaire would help by giving Rios advice.

I'm sure he doesn't Pacquiao's fans mad at him. You know once they get a whiff of a negative comment about Pacquiao they all get behind the keyboard and defend him. These keyboard warriors will not let a negative comment about him go unchallenged.
Donaire lacks integrity. Just comes across that way. And so what if he helps a "friend" from his own stable? He wants it to be a secret so the Filipino fans don't turn on him?
Exactly. Donaire seems like a guy who will do and say anything to make people like him.
Pac-man does NOT need help. This is the most tailor made opponent of all time for Manny's style. Its going to look like Pac vs David Diaz x10. It'll be over in 5. Rios doesn't take a backwards step...look how that worked out for 165lbs "hands of plaster" Margochito. Manny will...
