Although he concedes that Jorge “Travieso” Arce, the No.1 ranked WBO super bantamweight is a true Mexican warrior in the ring, World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman believes Arce has no chance to beat Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire in their planned October title fight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

WBO bantamweight champion Jorge Arce (60-6, 46KOs) has warned the critics to avoid counting him out in a possible September clash against Nonito Donaire (28-1, 18KOs), the WBO's champion at super bantamweight.
WORLD Boxing Organization super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (28-1, 18 KOs) will see action on June 16, one week after pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao defends his WBO welterweight title against undefeated junior welterweight Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on June 9.
There is only one obstacle remaining for WBO bantamweight champion Jorge 'Travieso' Arce. On February 18th, Arce returns to the ring against Lorenzo Parra in a non-title rematch in Mexicali, Mexico. If Arce prevails, he moves up in weight to face WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire. Arce was not impressed with Donaire's recent twelve round decision win over Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. Prior to move back to bantam, Arce stopped Vazquez Jr. last May to capture the WBO belt at 122.

There’s been speculation that Nonito Donaire has had trouble making the 118-pound limit for his fight with Omar Narvaez on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Donaire didn’t dispute this notion that it’s been a chore paring down his body to 118 pounds. When he started the weight-losing process nearly three months ago, he weighed 145 pounds, the result of an eight-month layoff from the ring that’s made it harder to get down to 118 pounds.
