| Don King's Truck Full of Turkeys Gets Hijacked in Florida
|
|
By Edward Chaykovsky According to NBC Miami, promoter Don King's truck filled with 30,000 holiday turkeys was hijacked in South Florida. The turkeys were going to be distributed to Mangonia Park, Deerfield Beach, and Miami, but the truck went missing near Pompano. Police eventually found the truck a few hours later. Most of the turkeys appeared be present, but the turkey drive still had to be canceled because organizers couldn't know for sure if the birds had remained refrigerated. "It's the craziest thing, times are so bad they're stealing turkeys," spokesman Robert Weneck tells NBC Miami. "We don't want to deliver turkeys that were out of our control. Don didn't want to make everyone sick." Tags: Don King |
