Dmytro Kucher: record, next fight and profile →
Rudy “El Lobo Negro” Encarnacion (34-23-4) and Alex Miskirtchian (25-3-1) will clash for the vacant EBU featherweight title on July 24th in Spain on a Maravilla Box Promotion. Encarnacion vs Miskirtchian is an excellent matchup between two tough, experienced fighters. As for Encarnacion´s record, well, that´s what happens when you fight on the road in all possible weight divisions.
Rising Belgian prospect Bilal Laggoune (19-0-1, 9 KOs) is a new challenger for a vacant European cruiserweight title. The announcement was posted on the official portal of the European Boxing Union (EBU). Laggoune’s opponent for a blue belt is Ukrainian’s Dmytro Kucher. Both parties have to come to an agreement until the noon of June 9. If no agreement is reached, a purse bid will follow.
Rakhim Chakhkiev (21-1, 16 KOs), the reigning European champion, is just a week away from his domestic tune-up fight against experienced but faded former perennial contender Valery Brudov (42-5, 28 KOs), the fight being one of the undercard attractions of a bout between Denis Lebedev and Youri Kalenga, set for April 10 in Moscow, Russia. However, a true opponent for WBC #1, IBF #5, WBO #7, WBA #11, and most importantly TBRB #10 rated cruiserweight, has been reportedly defined in dangerously punching Ukrainian Dmytro Kucher (22-1, 16 KOs).
According to Alina Shaternikova, formerly a championship boxer and presently the vice-president of National Boxing Federation of Ukraine, one of the two state’s top cruiserweight stars Dmytro Kucher (22-1, 16 KOs) was set as a mandatory for Russian Rakhim Chakhkiev (21-1, 16 KOs).
2012 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist and 2011 World champion Olexander Usyk (3-0, 3 KOs), fresh off his dominant stoppage of Ben Nsafoah on April 26, is coming back to the squared circle just a month after. Usyk, a protégé of K2 Promotions, will headline a local show in the southern Ukrainian seaport of Odessa, the center of the heated street clashes between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian activists and enforcers just a couple of weeks ago.
Salle des etoiles, Monte Carlo, Monaco - Fought at a catch of 171-pounds, Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16KOs) destroyed Denis Grachev (13-2-1, 8KOs) with a first round TKO. Rodriguez hurt Grachev with every hard punch that landed to the head and body. He sent Grachev down twice in the first two minutes. Rodriguez then punished Grachev, who was out on his feet, with a heavy barrage of punches until the referee jumped in to wave things off and save Grachev from further punishment. Rodriguez was crowned the winner of a four-fighter international tournament, which also included Hungarian Zsolt Erdei (defeated by Grachev) and Argentinean Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna (eliminated by Rodriguez) and a catchweight limit set between the 168lb weight class and the 175lb division.
Elite Boxing Promotions, one of the leading Ukrainian boxing companies, will present its next card on May 29 at the Sportlife Club in Kiev, Ukraine. The main event will see another tune-up for the WBC #1 ranked light welterweight Victor Postol, who recently outpointed American challenger Henry Lundy in a tough fight. This time WBC international 140lb titlist won't put his regalia at stake but instead will face the Uzbek import Bahrom Payozov (21-2, 15 KOs) over eight rounds.
Two of the best Elite Boxing’s fighters, rising stars Victor Postol and Dmytro Kucher, are packing their luggage and targeting to land in Moscow, Russia, pretty soon. Both Postol and Kucher are invited by Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov to take part both in his fighters’ training camp and in May 17 Moscow tournament, which is headlined by the Denis Lebedev vs. Guillermo Jones showdown. WBC #1 ranked Postol (22-0, 10 KOs) has last fought on March 21 in Kiev, when he outpointed American Hank Lundy in a very competitive clash for a vacant WBC international light welterweight title. Postol, 29, will help Russian lightweight Eduard Troyanovskiy to prepare for his upcoming collision (presumably versus former European champion Yuri Romanov). His fight on May 17 is scheduled for eight rounds. Postol is also ranked #14 by the WBO.
In his first fight outside of the United States or Canada, WBC #9 ranked light welterweight and previously fringe lightweight contender "Hammering" Hank Lundy gave a stern test to WBC #3 ranked Viktor Postol of Ukraine - especially in the later rounds - but lost a close unanimous decision to his counterpart. Postol (now 22-0, 10 KOs) looked superior to the American in the first half of the bout. He was shimmering with confidence, boxing circles around Lundy and scoring constantly with his jab and fast combinations. Lundy (22-3-1, 11 KOs), on the other hand, exploded in the third part of the match-up, pressing Postol and forcing him to pay much more attention to his defense. The end of the bout was contested hotly but Lundy had the upper hand. At the end, it wasn't enough, and all three judges preferred the Ukrainian with almost identical scorecards: 116-112 (twice) and 116-113. Postol acquired a vacant WBC International light welterweight title.
A fast-rising and very hard-hitting Ukrainian cruiserweight Dmytro Kucher (20-0, 15 KOs) has finally found an opponent for his upcoming (March 21) twelve-rounder at “Sportlife” night club in Kiev, Ukraine. The WBC #4, IBF #9 and WBO #13 ranked 200lber, who blitzed through six relatively notable fighters in 2012, will end up fighting the Brazilian import Julio Cesar Dos Santos (22-1, 20 KOs) for a vacant WBC International title. Kucher’s original opponent Vincenzo Rossitto (43-7-2, 25 KOs) chose to relinquish his title rather than to fight the Ukrainian.
