| Dmitry Pirog: I'm Ready For Sturm, Even in Germany
|
|
By Ruslan Chikov & Alexander Pavlov Undefeated WBO middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog (19-0, 15KOs) is ready to face WBA king Felix Sturm (36-2-2, 15KOs) in any location - even in Sturm's home of Germany. Pirog has been mentioned as possible opponent for Sturm on April 13th. Pirog is holding out hope that Sturm follows through with a possible fight, but he's not sure if anything is going to actually happen with the ongoing rumors. "Finally, [Sturm] has already started talking about a fight with me, although in the past he's been silent on this subject. So, there is the possibility to organize a fight between us, although he had previously tried to ignore me. I hope this fight doesn't just stay at the level of conversation, because I'm ready to act - even in Germany," Pirog said. "If Sturm decides to fight me, I'm ready to sign the contract tomorrow. It's important for me to have this fight happen." Alexander Pavlov covers boxing for sportbox.ru Tags: Felix Sturm , Dmitry Pirog |

The most telling indication though is who h... |
I would agree except that it seems like the WBA might be serious about ordering the GG fight. Maybe the reason is that GG just recently signed with K2 promotions, who are not major league, but still way more powerful than Sturm's new independent gig.
And yes, Sturm does make ... |
I've read some of your posts, you're a good poster but seem misinformed on this topic. It'd be nice if you could list some names he's poosyfooting around. Maybe Golovkin, but check the link I posted above, doesn't seem that team GG wants it either.
The reason he's after Stur... |
From the few Golovkin fights I've seen, he just doesn't really impress me. He was being mostly outboxed by Ouma until the knock out.
I though GG did well considering how young he is and seeing as how Ouma is a tough, experienced vet.
That performance is more... |
