Dmitry Chudinov Back on 6/1: Fletcher, Nielsen Are in Mix

Dmitry “The Night Wolf” Chudinov (12-0-2, 8 KOs), a 27-year old WBA interim middleweight champion, will fight next on June 1 at a venue to be defined. Chudinov is looking forward to defending his belt and also his WBA #1 spot. Names, circulating in Russian media, include WBA #2 rated Australian Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10 KOs) and WBA/IBF/WBO #4 (and also WBC #7) Dane Patrick Nielsen (22-0, 11 KOs).

Chudinov had a breakthrough year in 2013, going solid 5-0-1, 4 KOs, against some well-known fighters including Grady Brewer, Jorge Navarro and Juan Camillo Novoa. Chudinov stopped the latter in the sixth on Dec. 21, having acquired a vacant WBA interim title. He was then slated to fight Fletcher in March, but that fight has never been finalized to this point.

Wait, who? And an interim alphabet belt? For beating the guy boxrec ranks 125th at middleweight? God, boxing is effing amazing. Title belts for everyone!

It's gonna be Fletcher. Nielsen is being built up at home and they've been talking about Fletcher for a while for the interim title
