Diego Magdaleno, Mercito Gesta Looking For Big Wins

This Friday night at the Mandalay Bay, two young undefeated prospects will be put to the test in what figures to be a great night of action leading to the big showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday Night.

Hometown hero Diego Magdaleno (20-0, 7 KOs) of Las Vegas will defend his NABF Super Featherweightt title when he takes on Emmnauel Lucero (28-7-1, 14 KOs) of Mexico in the main event of "Top Rank Live" to be televised by Fox Sports Net and Fox Deportes from the Islander Ballroom in the Mandalay Bay. In the co-main event hard hitting Mercito Gesta (23-0, 12 KO's) will put his perfect record on the line against this toughest foe to date, Ricardo Dominguez (34-6-2, 21 KO's) of Culiacan, Mexico.

"I always look forward to fighting in Las Vegas, the fans have been great to me and I want to give them another good fight," said Magdaleno, who is looking for his fourth win of the year, all his fights have been in Las Vegas, this year.

On his most recent fight he came of the canvas to win a hard fought fight against Alejandro Perez. Lucero who fought Pacquiao for the world title in 2003, has won three of his last five fights and is the current New York State Champion at 130 pounds. Lucero is from Mexico but resides in New York.

Gesta who is coming of a decision win over Manuel Perez and this fight against Dominguez should be good test as he prepares to battle for a world championship in the near future.

Tickets at $75, $50, $25 are available at all Ticketmaster locations (select Smith's
