BoxingSscene.com caught up with NABF super featherweight champion Diego Magdaleno(23-0) shortly after his 4th round TKO victory over Antonio Davis on Saturday night in Las Vegas.  An upcoming fight that will be of particular interest to Magdaleno will be the September 15th showdown between highly rated super featherweights Rocky Martinez (25-1-1) and Miguel Beltran (27-1).

As first reported by BoxingScene, Martinez-Beltran will take place on the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. versus Sergio Martinez pay-per-view undercard and the vacant 130 lb. WBO title will likely be up for grabs.

According to sources close to the situation, Top Rank will look to match Magdaleno against the winner of that fight.  The 25 year-old southpaw is thrilled at the prospect of getting his first title shot.

"I'm very excited to watch their fight (Martinez-Beltran). I know either guy is a worthy opponent. I see a tough fight between them both and I can't wait to get back in the ring with the winner for the title.

"This is gonna be a great year for me.  I know I have what it takes to be the world champion I've always dreamed of becoming," Magdaleno told BoxingScene.
