Devon Alexander Ready To Fight, Warns Randall Bailey

By Ryan Burton

IBF welterweight champion Randall Bailey appeared on the latest edition of BoxingScene.com's official audio show, The Boxing Lab.  During our interview Bailey said that a fight against former junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander is something that he had always wanted.  In fact he went as far as to tell us that he had previously visited Alexander's former promoter Don King in an effort to make the fight.  The story can be found by Clicking Here.

Alexander said that this was the first time he had heard that Bailey was interested in facing him.  The St. Louis native is scheduled to return on August 18th in a fight televised by Showtime. While his opponent hasn't been determined yet, Alexander told BoxingScene that he is more than willing to face Bailey.

"If Randall Bailey called me out in the past I never heard about it. Now that he has put it out there he can get what he says he has always wanted.  Tell your promoter to to get with my people and let's do it. I don't duck nobody.  Be careful what you ask for," stated Alexander.

Not a bad fight, worth watching. Devon probley beats his ass but outside of the top three guys in the division Baily is the biggest threat since he can punch like a mulekick as Mike Tyson would say.

Alexander/Bailey has a Leonard/Hearns flavor to it. Perfect fight for august on Showtime.

This boy from St. Louis had better be careful. Didn't he see what Mike Jones got? Bailey has the power to put his lights out for ten minutes.:boxing:
