Former junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander is set to officially start his training camp on January 2nd for his February 25th fight versus Marcos Maidana. Alexander has held camp in Las Vegas or  Colorado Springs for many of his recent fights. The St. Louis native is happy that he will be training at home for the showdown against Maidana.

"It feel good to train at home . I always enjoy being around love when I'm training.  It only reminds me of how hard I need to train by being at home," stated Alexander "I'm a family man and family is important to me," he continued.

The fight against Maidana also takes place in Alexander's hometown of St.  Louis. It will be both Alexander and Maidana's welterweight debuts.

Alexander plans on showing the fans a side of him that they haven't seen before. He also feels that the additional weight will  increase his stamina and help him finish the late rounds strong.

"On February 25th I am going to be taking it to the next level.  You are going to see a new arsenal that you guys haven't seen before.  It's going to be punches thrown all night long.  I love fighting and on the 25th Maidana is not gonna know what is going on in that ring," predicted Alexander.
