Auditorio del Bicentenario, Morelia, Michoacαn de Ocampo, Mexico - WBC silver minimumweight champion Denver Cuello (32-4-6, 21KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Ivan Meneses (18-11-1, 10KOs). Cuello was eager to knock his opponent out but couldn't get him out of there. During the action, there was a clash of heads that opened up a cut on the right eyelid of Cuello and it affected him until the end of the fight. The scores were 98-90, 96-92 and 96-92.

Even if Cuello isn't champion, fans know he is in the elite by his actions. He wins on the road, asks no mercy, has no excuses. This is how to get respect. Sulaiman is biased, with his Mexico centric organization, but obviously Cuello doesn't mind coming to Mexico and fighting Mexicans to get his...

Isn't the WBC frustrated in failing to frustrate Cuello from fighting for the title? How many fight does it take for a non-Mexican like Cuello to finally land in a title fight? Had Cuello be a Mexican, he would have won multiple titles already.
