Former lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-3-1, 21KOs) has denied that he signed a promotional agreement with Zanfer Promotions of Mexico. He returns on August 10th at the Caliente Racetrack against Fidel Monterrosa (31-7-1, 25KOs) in a junior welterweight contest. The fight will be televised by TV Azteca.

The event is promoted by Zanfer but DeMarco says he is fighting under his own company. He recently split with promoter Gary Shaw.

"I just want to clarify something. I have not signed a promotional agreement with anyone. I am taking part on that card under my own company, DeMarco Promotions," DeMarco stated.

This will be DeMarco's first fight since suffering a TKO loss to Adrien Broner in Novembr of 2012. Also on the card, super bantamweight Daniel Rosas (15-0-1, 10KOs) faces Roberto Castañeda (20-3-1, 15KOs).
