DeGale-Wilczewski Clash Not Final? Groves Cutting In?
By Jakub Biluński
According to sources in Poland, the super middleweight bout between Piotr ''The Wolf'' Wilczewski (29-1, 10 KO) and James DeGale (10-1, 8 KO) has not been finalized by the Polish fighter's team. DeGale's promoter, Frank Warren, announced the deal was done, but the European champion's team is still waiting for the contract. And, they want an agreement where Warren would reimburse their expenses in the event of DeGale's withdrawal. There is also talk that George Groves (13-0, 10 KO) is trying to get the fight with Wilczewski.
Wilczewski vs DeGale was booked for July. Everything changed after Groves' upset victory over DeGale. Adam Booth's fighter, Groves, was offered a shot at Wilczewski, but Booth was heavily involved with David Haye's preparations for the Klitschko fight - so the talks were postponed and Warren's people made their second approach for Wilczewski.
He may be DeCunt, but he should've won that fight vs Groves. That was just bullshіt decision...
Have to disagree. Was a close fight that could have gone either way. No way a bull**** decision.Comment by Dirk Diggler UK on 07-08-2011
Seem's Wilczewski's camp aren't overly interested in a DeCunt fight
Because they know they'll lose. Just like Groves in a rematch.Comment by GatecrasherUA on 07-08-2011
