Colombia's Luis De La Rosa (18-1-1, 10KOs) will face hometown boxer Ivan Meneses (16-9-1, 9KOs) on Friday night at Auditorio Plaza Condesa in Mexico City. The WBO's interim-minimumweight championship will be at stake. De La Rosa hopes to win this fight and tehn challenge the winner of April's bout between champion Moises Fuentes and former beltholder Ivan Calderon.
In his only loss, De La Rosa was beaten by a twelve round split decision to former champion Raul Garcia. Some thought Garcia, who was down in the eight, lost that fight. This will be De La Rosa' first fight outside of Colombia.
