James De La Rosa (23-2, 13KOs) is heading back to the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds. Last Saturday night, De La Rosa moved up to a catch-weight of 162-pounds and won an upset ten round unanimous decision over big favorite Alfredo Angulo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight was part of the Mayweather-Maidana 2 Pay-Per-View.

"I plan on coming back down to 154 too, that is actually my normal weight. The reason I fought this fight at this weight was because I saw it as an opportunity for myself, it was a thing that I couldn’t pass up," De La Rosa told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

The fight at 154 that De La Rosa would like most is a showdown with Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. The Mexican former champion is scheduled to return on December 6th, likely against Joshua Clottey, and De La Rosa says there is talk of him seeing action on the undercard.

"I mean, he’s the man. I would love to get my shot at him. There was talk years back of possibly me fighting him and it never came through. Like I said, everything has got to work out, but I would love to fight Canelo," De La Rosa said.
