Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya expects a very good fight on May 2nd, when welterweight champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao collide in a highly anticipated showdown.

De La Hoya fought both fighters and those bouts helped both Mayweather and Pacquiao become crossover superstars. De La Hoya lost a close twelve round split decision to Mayweather in 2007. He was beaten up and stopped by Pacquiao in 2008; a fight that saw De La Hoya retire afterwards.

De La Hoya picks Mayweather to win, but he says it won't be easy.

“[For Mayweather to win he has to] sustain the pressure for twelve whole rounds again Manny Pacquiao,” De La Hoya said to The Desert Sun.

"[Pacquiao is] aggressive, fun to watch, never a dull moment. I feel that come May 2, it’s going to be such a great fight because of their styles. Pacquiao is going to force the fight. It’s a matter of if Pacquiao can cut the ring off and connect them. I think it’s going to be a wonderful fight.”
