Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya believes WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is capable of knocking out IBO/WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko - if a deal is struck for a July 2 showdown.
De La Hoya credits Haye's attributes of speed and power as the winning combination to overcome Klitschko's advantages in size, strength and length. At the same time, he doesn't deny the high level of danger involved with a Klitschko brother in the other corner of the ring.
"David Haye's a great athlete, which is one of his advantages over Klitschko," De La Hoya told Sky Sports News. "He can be one of the fighters who can knock out a Klitschko - he's that powerful. He's fast, a thinker, he can surprise a Klitschko, I believe. Klitschko's a great fighter, a big guy, so it's a dangerous fight for David, but I believe it's a very winnable fight for Haye."
