Dawson Excited To Return: 'I'm Back To Bad Chad'

By Mike Coppinger

Chad Dawson was the lineal light heavyweight champ, but he's now low two consecutive fights, both by stoppage.

First, Dawson was TKOed by Andre Ward in a 2012 fight at 168. Dawson appeared weight-drained and there were reports he was knocked out by a faded Edison MIranda in sparring.

Dawson (31-3, 17 KOs) returned in 2013 to defend his title against Adonis Stevenson, but was knocked out in the very first round.

Dawson hasn't fought in over a year, but will finally get back in the ring Saturday against journeyman George Blades (23-5, 16 KOs), and the fight will headline Showtime Extreme's coverage of the fights from the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Dawson signed with Al Hamon following the Stevenson loss, and believes he can return to his pound-for-pound form.

“I'm coming off losses in my last two fights, but nothing's changed,” said Dawson. "I’m just back to being myself. I'm working hard with Eddie (Mustafa Muhammad) and doing the right things. I've been training for this fight for about two months.’’

“I’m getting ready for the second chapter of my career. I'm back to Bad Chad."
are you telling dawson to develop a style where he holds non-stop?
If he wants to win and if he can fight with his own ref who will let him do it every fight yes......but I will stop watching.
