MORE TO COME.......................
The Venue at UCF, Orlando, Florida - With promoter and mentor Floyd Mayweather at ringside, Gervonta Davis was nearly flawless in breaking down Cristobal Cruz in round three of their super featherweight bout.
Davis floored Cruz (40-19-4, 28KOs) in rounds one and three, the latter knockdown prompting referee Frank Santore to stop the contest.
The bout aired as bonus coverage on Bounce TV, with Mayweather declaring on air that the goal is for Davis (13-0, 12KOs) to surpass everything he's done in his incredible career.
Sergey Lipinets saw his six-fight knockout streak end but still managed a 10-round unanimous decision over Lydell Rhodes.
Scores were 98-91 (twice) and 96-93.
Lipinets (8-0, 6KOs) was being outboxed early in the fight, with Rhodes offering constant lateral movement.
The unbeaten boxer from Russia - who now trains in Southern California - began landing his right hand with regularity over the second half of the fight. Rhodes was rocked in rounds nine and ten, losing a point in the final round for excessive holding.
Rhodes falls to 23-1-1 (11KOs).
