Olympia, Liverpool - David Price (12-0, 10KOs) knocked out John McDermott (26-8, 17KOs) in a very quick first round to win the vacant English title, and also earns the mandatory right to face British champion Tyson Fury. The fight was a final eliminator for Fury's title. It only took Price 73-seconds to knock McDermott out.

Within seconds of the first round, Price dropped McDermott with a combination. Price attacked him and dropped him hard for a second knockdown. He got up, with his legs gone, and once again a two-punch combination dropped McDermott for the third time - for the full count.
