A big British showdown between David Haye (26-2, 24KOs) and Tyson Fury (21-0, 15KOs) is close to becoming a reality for a date in August, according to The Sun. As BoxingScene.com reported earlier, Fury withdrew from an ordered EBU title fight with champion Kurat Pulev, which the IBF also set down as a final eliminator. Haye was set to face Manuel Charr in June, but withdrew with a left hand injury.

Rumors have been running wild for weeks, but sources are now telling several British outlets that Fury's promoter Mick Hennessy has changed his mind about making a Haye showdown, and that is the main reason behind his boxer's withdrawl from the Pulev shot.

The big obstacle, says The Sun, is the television deal. Hennessy has a deal with Channel 5, while Haye is now signed to Eddie Hearn, who has an exclusive deal with Sky Sports.
