Olympiahalle, Munich, Germany - Former heavyweight champion David Haye has claimed that Bernd Boente, manager of the WBC heavyweight king Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40KOs), attempted to eject him during an interview with German cable network RTL. Haye sat ringside to watch Klitschko's twelve round unanimous decision win over Dereck "Del Boy" Chisora (15-3, 9KOs). The scores were 118-110, 118-110 and 119-111 - but Haye was not impressed with Vitali's performance.
Haye wants Vitali to honor their agreement from last December. The British boxer claims the two sides reached an agreement, but then Team Klitschko wanted to re-negotiate the financial terms.
"While I was ringside doing an RTL interview, Bernd Boente went crazy and called security to have me ejected....how sad is he. I always had a feeling Bernd was to blame for trying to re-negotiate the agreed terms. Seeing Bernd with tears, foaming at mouth - was classic. Licking my lips at the prospect of sharing a ring with Vitali. Let's hope he honors his deal we agreed to in December," Haye said.
