Sources close to the situation have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that Showtime's bantamweight doubleheader, scheduled for December 11, will move from Leon, Mexico to Los Angeles, California. In the main event, IBO bantamweight champion Vic Darchinyan (35-2-1, 27 KOs) will defend the title against unbeaten Abner Mares (20-0-1, 13 KOs). In the co-feature, IBF bantamweight champion Yonnhy Perez (20-0-1, 14 KOs) will defend his title in a rematch with former champ Joseph Agbeko (27-2, 22 KOs).

Based on what I've been told, Showtime was not enthusiastic about having to travel out to Mexico for the show, which is the main reason for the location switch. In reality the show will do a lot better in Los Angeles. Several LA venues are being looked at.
