As previously reported, Dante "Crazy" Jardon (23-3, 19 KOs) will defend his super featherweight Continental Americas title of the World Boxing Council (WBC) against tough countryman and former WBC champion Gamaliel "Platano" Diaz (37-10-2, 17 KOs) on August 10th at the Auditorium Square Condesa in the Mexican Federal District. Televisa will broadcast the fight.
The WBC has now ruled that the Jardon-Diaz winner wil become the number one ranked contender at super featherweight. The winner will become the mandatory challenger to next month's fight between champion Takashi Miura and challenger Sergio Thompson.
Jardon is on a three fight winning streak and Diaz was lost his WBC crown Miura after getting stopped in the ninth round.
