Danny Williams Fights On, Eyes Andrzej Wawrzyk on 2/1

By Luke Furman

British veteran Danny Williams (45-20, 34KOs) is planning to fight on with his career. The man who once scored a TKO victory over Mike Tyson, is likely going to return on February 1st in Opole, Poland against once-beaten Pole Andrzej Wawrzyk (27-1, 13 KOs). On December 30th, Williams lost a split decision to career journeyman Tomas Mrazek (8-46), and Williams has lost his last ten out of eleven contests. Wawrzyk returns after taking a serious pounding in a third round TKO loss to ten WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin last may in Russia.

[QUOTE=trufightfanatic;14101154]I hope not. Wilder needs to step up higher than fighting Williams. I read that Williams said that he fights on because it pays better than most jobs, and I'm not sure that he would be able to fight on…
