Trainer Angelo Hyder expects his boxer, IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green, to blast Antonio Tarver out at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on July 20. Hyder respects Tarver's ability as a boxer, but he doesn't believe he could cope with the cruiserweight power of Green. Tarver was a longtime champion and contender at light heavyweight. He briefly made a move to heavyweight, before accepting the opportunity to face Green.
"It will be interesting to see what Tarver does when he feels the power," Green's trainer told The Weekend West. "As Mike Tyson used to say, 'they've all got a plan until they get hit'. The plan goes out the window when they feel the power. And Danny can hit."
Green was angered by some of Tarver's comments, where the former light heavyweight king discussed his plan to outbox Green, and spoke about whether or not Green has already peaked in training.
"Roy Jones had a plan and we know what happened to that. Antonio Tarver shouldn't be worrying about what I'm doing. He should be concentrating on himself," Green said.
