Fresh from his Houston triumph against veteran Erik Morales, undefeated young Danny Garcia (23-0, 14KOs) is living up to his nickname of… Swift.

He’s confirming that wants to be back in the ring defending his newly won WBC super lightweight Title within two to three months…tops.

Danny was talking to the media at WBC Headquarters in Mexico City’s Zona Rosa via the most crackle punctuated conference call line since the era of Alexander Graham Bell. It sounded just like he was preparing a giant platter of french fries.

Referring back to the key eleventh round of his fight against Erik, Danny conceded he went in firing on all cylinders, rather than trying to pick any particular punch. He explained:

”We were exchanging punches and I landed first. It was a matter of the occasion. I just let my hands go in the eleventh and caught Erik. My game plan throughout, was to use my youth, my speed, my power plus my will, and it worked.”

Asked if he’d like to fight Manny Pacquiao, Danny mentioned that Manny seems to be close to retirement, but he’d love to fight him, if the opportunity came along. He stressed he wants big fight against the very best fighters, but will leave the details to his manager to sort out.

Danny also recognized his radical role switch from challenger to champion by stressing: “I feel proud to be a World Champion. I also know I’m going to have to work much harder, because everyone wants to be a champion. So, everybody is going to be coming after me. I have to train way harder!”
