Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is mapping out the middleweight landscape for his newest client, for WBA 'regular' middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs).

BoxingScene.com first reported a few days ago that Jacobs was being lined up to face undefeated Luis 'Cuba' Arias (18-0, 9 KOs) in the main event of an HBO televised card on November 11 at Nassau Coliseum in New York City.

If everything goes well, Jacobs would return on an HBO televised date in March.

And the opponent that Hearn would love to secure for Jacobs is former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KOs).

Lemieux, who is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, is also an HBO fighter. He was in the ring twice in 2017, with a brutal knockout of Curtis Stevens in March and then a decision win over Marcos Reyes in May.

Lemieux, like Jacobs, was defeated by middleweight king Gennady Golovkin. Lemieux was stopped by Golovkin in their 2015 unification. He's won four straight since. Jacobs lost a close twelve round decision to Golovkin in March of this year.

It wasn't that long ago when Chris Eubank Jr. was the mandatory challenger for Jacobs. Eubank, who now holds the IBO title at 168-pounds and finds himself in the World Boxing Super Series, is not on Hearn's radar for the immediate future.

"That's definitely not a target. He's up at super middleweight at the moment. Eubank is a good fighter. He's not on our list for Danny Jacobs right now. Like I said, the key is to get out in November in a good fight, finish the fight, know your next date in March, and then maybe go again in the summer. Just keep active until the right fight comes up," Hearn explained to BoxingScene.com.

"Lemieux is an obvious choice. He with Golden Boy. He's on the same network as well. I really like that fight. I think it's a fun fight. So we'll see what happens. But first things first, we have to November and go from there."
