Daniel Geale Vows: I'm in The Best Shape of My Life!

IBF middleweight world champion Daniel Geale says he is in the best shape of his life heading into Wednesday's title defence against Anthony Mundine.

IBF middleweight world champion Daniel Geale says he's in the best shape of his life for Wednesday's title defence against Anthony Mundine.

The two Australian boxers exuded confidence at a media conference on Monday that went longer than the Sydney Entertainment centre bout will last if it goes the full 12 rounds.

Geale, who is preparing for the fourth defence of his title, said he had enjoyed a great preparation.

"I believe I'm in the best shape of my life - I've been doing a couple of extra things," Geale said.

"I've been seeing a different strength coach, and it's made a massive difference - he's a nutritionist as well.

"Everybody will see, once I get in the ring, that there's a few big changes.

"I'm really looking forward to this, it's huge for Australian boxing and I can't wait to get out there."

Mundine, who inflicted on Geale the only loss of his professional career back in 2009, said he felt relaxed.

"I'm in good shape to go fast and furious for 12 rounds," Mundine said.

"Whatever tempo he wants to go - fast, slow, mild - I can dance to any tempo."

Mundine entered a spirited verbal spat with Geale's American promoter Gary Shaw during the media conference at The Star.

Geale remains the betting favourite for the fight, but Mundine said he didn't care about being labelled the underdog.

Nice to see a half-decent presser posted about the real fight happening Down Under....rather than that dire, half-arsed cut-and-paste job on the 'iconic' Kimbo Slice. Geale is absolutely hell-bent on revenge and despises Mundine who has said some disgusting things......so…
