Daniel Geale: I Don't Buy Into Golovkin's Reputation

By Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

WBA/IBO champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26KOs) is one of the most feared boxers in the sport, but two-time middleweight champion Daniel Geale (30-2, 16KOs) is not easily impressed. This Saturday night at New York's Madison Square Garden, Geale will put Golovkin to the test in an HBO televised headliner.

Golovkin has the reputation of a killer, with a long history of fighters doing their best to stay out of his path. Geale won't go as far as to call Golovkin an overhyped product, but he is less than impressed with his level of opposition.

"I don't buy into [his reputation of being a monster]. But he's a got a reputation because he's done everything that he's needed to do in every one of those fights. You can't take that away from him. If he's asked to knock the guys out and he knocks them out, that's all you could say. Whether he's done that against the top level of fighters, well that's a different story. We'll be waiting to see on Saturday [how he does against a higher caliber of fighter]," Geale said to BoxingScene.com.

Peter quillin isn't even a legit threat the dude had 13 amateur fights golovkin will rule middleweight for a while due to poor opposition but still very exciting to watch.

I get what dan_cov is saying!!! 160 is pretty lame. GGG is like a thurman. Known for that POWER, only difference is 147 is stacked with talent so Keith needs power and a lot of skill whereas GGG can get…

[QUOTE=dan_cov;14790912]There just isn't anybody at middleweight worth giving praise for. They are all C level or worse. The only fighter at middleweight which I will give praise for is Sergio Mora because IMO his style gives GGG fits. I'd like…

All there is to say is: GGG 1 - 0 Geale The fight is already done in GGGs favour as far as I'm concerned.
