Former world champion Carlos Cuadras accused the Nicaraguan four-time champion Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez of not fulfilling his word of promising him an immediate rematch.

Last September at The Forum in Los Angeles, Gonzalez won a twelve round decision over Cuadras to capture the WBC super flyweight title. With the victory, Gonzalez became the first boxer to win four world titles in four weight divisions. In order to get that win, Gonzalez took a lot of punishment during the fight. He had severe swelling on his face and around his eyes.

Gonzalez was then ordered by the World Boxing Council to make a mandatory defense against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai of Thailand.

Gonzalez had the option of delaying the mandatory - with WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman advising him that the sanctioning body was willing to approve the rematch with Cuadras - and the winner would have to fight Sor Rungvisai.

Gonzalez made a decision to take a pass on fighting Cuadras again and instead finalized a deal to fight Sor Rungvisai in the HBO Pay-Per-View co-feature to the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs showdown on March 18th from New York's Madison Square Garden.

Cuadras, who won a technical decision over Sor Rungvisai to capture the WBC belt, believes the Thai fighter is capable of knocking Gonzalez out.

"I feel that 'Chocolatito' did not want to fight me. I feel that 'Chocolatito' is afraid because he decided not to face me, and he preferred Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and I think that fight is dangerous, the Thai can win," said Cuadras to ESPN Deportes.

"I think he did not want the fight because the first one was close and controversial, he wanted to find an easier opponent. And he turned his back, there is no more than that. I gave him the opportunity when I was champion."

"I feel that Rungvisai can knock him out. Chocolatito comes forward with a lot of punches, Rungvisai throws one or two punches at a time, but he hits very hard. I think Rungvisai can catch him and he can knock 'Chocolatito' out."
