Eddie Hearn has told BoxingScene that former British lightweight champion, Anthony Crolla, 23-3 (9), has been offered the final slot in Prizefighter: Lightweights II due to take place at Liverpools Olympia on October 6.
Anthony has been made and offer and hes the man we want were just waiting on his response, said the Matchroom promoter.
Its a fantastic chance for Anthony to box Derry Mathews again [Mathews beat Crolla by TKO in April] and get his revenge. It would be a fantastic final piece to what is already a terrific looking Prizefighter, but we do have other options if he says no.
The field currently consists of Liverpudlians: Derry Mathews, Stephen Jennings, Terry Needham and Nathan Brough. Former British super featherweight champion Gary Sykes [another Crolla conqueror] as well as unbeaten pair Kieran Farrell and Liam Walsh.
