OMAHA, Neb. -- The manager for Terence "Bud" Crawford (23-0, 16KOs) says an agreement in principle is in place for the WBO lightweight champion to fight in his hometown of Omaha next month against Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-0, 16KOs).

Cameron Dunkin said Friday night that a contract is yet to be signed, but he added that "it will be a fun time" for Omaha to host a world title fight for the first time since heavyweight champion Joe Frazier beat Ron Stander in 1972.

The Crawford-Gamboa bout is planned for June 28 at the CenturyLink Center. Crawford won his WBO title in March with a win over Ricky Burns in Glasgow, Scotland. Gamboa is the interim WBA lightweight champ.

Exciting news. Anyone seen Mikey? WTF...! Craw might be too long for Gamboa. Crawford is a really good boxer, might trump Gamboa's athletic advantages. Will be a good fight to watch, can't see this one being boring. But with Gamboa sometimes you just never know and Crawford isn't exactly ...

This is a great fight a pure 50-50 fight. I cant pick a winner here.

If this happens, then we know why Mikey didn't get the fight...Arum. I hope Mikey can get out of his contract. This is a slap in the face! This will still be a great matchup. 50/50 fight, but I lean towards Crawford because he's been more active.
My birthday! Happy Birthday to me! :boxing: If I had any faith in Gamboa right now, I'd pick him.
You share the same birthday as Sugar Ray Robinson.
