Coldwell Boxing will return to Manchester on June 1st for what will be another exciting event as two of the city’s prized names of recent years will engage in a superb battle as former Lonsdale rulers, Craig Watson and David Barnes, go head to head in a superb welterweight battle that will set the victor up for further title opportunities. Promoter Dave Coldwell is expecting another gruelling night at The Bowlers.

“It seems that every time we can go to Manchester we put on a top main event and this time is no different as we give boxing fans a terrific derby between two fighters who really can’t afford to lose. Both these fighters have been British champion before so they know what it’s like to be at the top end of this sport and I know deep down that the pair of them are desperate to be there again. This is going to be two local lads in front of a passionate crowd giving it their all to get back amongst the title picture again.”

As well as the fascinating regional clash, the bumper card will also be supported by an excellent cast that features Matthew Hatton, Liam Hanrahan, Liam Conroy and a Central Area light-heavyweight belt clash between Matty Clarkson and Carl Wild. The entire show will be broadcast on Coldwell Television and the apps creator is insistent that fans will be well rewarded.

“Whenever we go to Manchester, we always get fans congratulating us and telling us that we need to come back there to put more shows on and that serves as a motivation to us to keep on putting the best action on that we can. Some of my young prospects will be moving up in rounds and I’ll also be improving the quality of their opponents too because I’ve got a couple of guys who I feel are close to title shots. Manchester has been good to Coldwell Boxing so far so it’s only right that we reward a great fighting city with some high-action shows.”
