Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-1, 22 KOs) has been doing some of his best trash-talking during the pref-fight promotion for his upcoming bout with WBA junior middleweight titlist Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KOs), of Puerto Rico. The fight happens on March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Cotto is not concerned with any of the trash talk. He expects to put on a boxing clinic when the two boxers step in the ring. That won't stop Mayorga from talking on a daily basis. Cotto is confident that hisboxing skills will overcome the brawling style of Mayorga.
"I plan to punch to the head, the body, to put on a good show for the fans. Fights are not won with your mouth, they are won in the ring. He doesn't have the punching skill. He is just brawling and brawling the whole fight. We are ready for anything that he brings. We are pretty sure that we're going to beat him no matter what happens," Cotto said.
