| Cotto vs Margarito Close To Finalized, Says Bob Arum

By Lem Satterfield Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has advised BoxingScene.com that a deal is close to being finalized for a December 3 rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. The fight will either take place in Las Vegas or New York's Madison Square Garden. Arum met with Margarito on Thursday in Los Angeles and finalized his portion of the deal. The veteran promoter expects to finalize Cotto's side of the deal next week. In 2008, Margarito (38-7, 27KOs) handed Cotto (36-2, 29KOs) the first loss of his pro career with an eleven round stoppage the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. "We met with Antonio Margarito yesterday and finalized his side of the deal to fight Miguel Cotto on Dec. 3 and I hope to finalize Cotto next week. It will either be in Las Vegas or at Madison Square Garden. I finalized Margarito yesterday, and Cotto, I'm pretty well finalized. I'll nail that down next week," Arum told BoxingScene.com.
