CompuBox Punch Stats: Erik Morales-Marcos Maidana War

Erik Morales, fighting the entire fight with a swollen-shut eye, landed the higher pct. of punches, but was outworked and outlanded by Marcos Maidana, who threw nearly 1,000 punches.  Morales rallied in rounds eight (landing 61% of his power punches), nine (landing 67% of his power shots) and round ten (landing 42% of his power shots).  Maidana had a 39-15 edge in punches landed in rounds eleven and twelve.

Maidana clearly won rounds 1/2 and 11/12 and i think you can easily find some other rounds in between.. it was close but far from a robbery and i think ultimately he won. I wonder what would have happened had…
