CompuBox: Hopkins Forces Opponents To Stop Punching

Champs (or former champs) Jean Pascal (D12), Antonio Tarver (W12), Roy Jones (W12), Kelly Pavlik (W12), Joe Calzaghe (L12) and Winky Wright (W12) combined landed 50% fewer punches against Hopkins than in each of their previous four fights. The six champs combined threw 35% less punches. Jones, Pavlik and Tarver landed 63% fewer punches against Hopkins. Calzaghe in his victory over Hopkins, put up the best numbers, throwing and landing just 17% fewer punches.
