British contender Gavin Rees, not a big puncher, averaged 71 punches thrown per round - a recipe for disaster vs. the counter-punching WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner, who landed half of his power punches against DeMarco, Escobedo, Perez, De Leon. Rees will have to be more accurate with his jab, as he landed only 18% against Mathews, Murray, Mbaye and Kotelnik.
