EBU light heavyweight champ Robert Stieglitz (50-5-2) has a mandatory challenger in Swede Erik Skoglund (26-0) and the EBU have set April 11 as deadline for agreement or purse bids. However, it appears that both have alternative plans.

Stieglitz drew with Nikola Sjekloca last weekend and was unhappy with his performance and is hinting at retirement after a long and very good career.

Meanwhile, Sodermanlands Nyheter writes today that Erik Skoglund could be challenging WBA secondary champ Nathan Cleverly on May 20 in Nykoping.

Cleverly have not signed anything yet and the fight is not confirmed. Cleverly had previously challenged former WBC super middleweight title holder Badou Jack over Twitter and there has also been talk of a rematch with Juergen Braehmer.

Team Sauerland is claimed to have an option on Cleverly´s next fight and that may play a part in this. As for Skoglund he´s been waiting or been kept waiting for a big fight for a long time now and has yet to face a top class contender seven years into his career as a professional boxer.

Another fight announced in media but yet to be confirmed, this time in Ilta-Sanomat in Finland, is the rematch between heavyweights Robert Helenius vs Dereck Chisora.

According to Ilta-Sanomat this fight is in the works for May 27 in Helsinki. Helenius won their first fight on a controversial decision fighting with a broken right hand and that began a long layoff and contractual dispute with Sauerland Event that wasn´t settled until October of last year.

However, again, this is not confirmed by neither Team Sauerland nor Helenius´ manager Markus Sundman.
