Cleverly: Me and Carl Froch Would Be a Cracking Fight

Nathan Cleverly has welcomed Carl Froch's admission that he's well and truly on his radar, but is focusing first on his world title fight this Saturday night.

Cleverly has vowed to impress in his WBO World Light-Heavyweight title challenge against the Champion Juergen Braehmer at The O2 in London, live in the UK on Sky Box Office and in America on EPIX.

The unbeaten Welshman says it could lead to a domestic dust up against the WBC World Super-Middleweight Champion who has talked about moving up to light-heavyweight.

This week Froch said that a fight against Cleverly could become inevitable if both fighters remain undefeated.

"I've got nothing but respect for Froch and that would be a cracking fight down the line," said Cleverly.

"If Froch does intend to come up to light-heavyweight, then who better to fight than me with a world title on the line?

"I've got to get a big win on the world stage first, and it won't come much bigger than Braehmer.

"He's the only thing that I'm focused on at the moment, and I'm not taking my eye off the ball this Saturday because a win is crucial.

"First I've got to deal with Braehmer in style on Saturday night, then not only will Froch take me seriously, but so will the Americans.

"This is my chance to put myself in the spotlight and I intend to take it."

Too early for Clev. I think he has got enough on his hands with Braehmer, a guy he wont be able to take an endless stream of punches from. He has to really use his head against Braehmer. Potentially a…

Cleverly's lack of defence is still an issue for me. He's a quality fighter and he has a very good chin, but he takes far too many shots and his leaning down to avoid punches concerns me. Against the likes…

Too early for Clev. He has no chance against Froch at this stage.
