Cleverly, Bellew Double on 7/12 May Lead To 11/29 Bout

By Edward Chaykovsky

The anticipated rematch between domestic cruiserweight rivals Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew (21-1-1, 13KOs) could very well happen on November 29th - if both boxers win their upcoming fights on July 12th in Liverpool.

The fought as light heavyweights in 2011, also in Liverpool, and Cleverly pulled out a close twelve round majority decision. Both have since moved up to the 200-pound limit after suffering knockout defeats at 175-pounds. They were both signed to Frank Warren in 2011, but now each man has jumped over to Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

The two fighters are expected to co-headline the July 12th bill. Bellew made his cruiserweight debut in March, stopping Valery Brudov in the twelfth round. Cleverly had a softer touch in Shawn Corbin this past Saturday night and stopped him in two.

When Cleverly and Bellew clash again in the ring they'll both be getting a big purse but neither will be facing a true world class fighter. That's what you call good business.

Cleverly takes the rematch. Bellew is all talk.
