According to reports in Puerto Rico, former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (32-3-1, 28KOs) could possibly face WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto (36-2, 29KOs) on December 3. The frontrunner to face Cotto on the December date is Mexico's Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27KOs). The Mexican boxer is still recovering from injuries that he suffered in last November's loss to Manny Pacquiao. If Margarito is not physically recovered to fight Cotto by the December date, then Cintron has a very good shot of stepping in. Cintron has a very tough fight ahead, against Carlos Molina on July 9 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
