According to IBO super middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (25-1, 19 KOs), he is traveling to Las Vegas to train with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs).
Mayweather, 40 years old, will return to the ring on August 26th in one of the biggest fights of the year, when he faces UFC superstar Conor McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Mayweather retired back in September 2015 after dominating Andre Berto over twelve rounds at the MGM Grand. He announced his planned comeback back in April.
Eubank has entered the World Boxing Super Series super middleweight tournament. He dominated former champion Arthur Abraham earlier this month with a twelve round unanimous decision to secure the WBSS spot. It was Eubank's second fight of the year, after moving up to 168-pounds to stop Renold Quinlan in February to capture the IBO strap.
He's going to help prepare Mayweather for the 50th and final fight of his pro career. Showtime Pay-Per-View will career the fight. McGregor is training with a variety of fighters for what will be his first pro boxing match. One of the fighters who recently joined his camp is two division world champion Paulie Malignaggi.
Eubank is very excited about being a part of Mayweather's final training camp.
"Flying to Vegas to train with the Money Team before Mayweather vs McGregor on August 26. Awesome to be a part of Floyd's last ever training camp," Eubank stated.
Eubank is scheduled to face undefeated Avni Yildirim in the first round. The other participants in the tournament include WBA champion George Groves, Jamie Cox, Erik Skoglund, Callum Smith, Juergen Braehmer and Rob Brant. Eubank is hoping to push forward to an eventual showdown with Groves in the tournament.
