BoxingScene.com has been advised that Fred Kassi has been tabbed to face Chris Arreola on July 18th at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas as part of the CBS broadcast that afternoon. The main event on that card will feature Carl Frampton's stateside debut versus Alejandro Gonzalez Jr.
Arreola (36-4, 31 KO's) last fought on March 13th where he had an unexpected life-and-death struggle with Curtis Harper over eight entertaining rounds. Arreola, who has challenged twice for the heavyweight title is hoping that a strong performance can catapult him to a shot at WBC titlist, Deontay Wilder, who is slated to make his second defense on September 26th.
Kassi, has a record of 18-3 (10 KO's) and in his most recent bout was halted in seven rounds by Amir Mansour.
