By Joel Isaac Gonzalez,

This Friday, a purse bid has been scheduled by the World Boxing Association for the mandatory fight between WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno and Juan Carlos Payano.

The wife and spokeswoman for Chemito, Rouss Laguna Moreno, says the two sides are in serious discussions to reach an agreement before Friday's deadline date.

"Today (yesterday) I called (Payano's representatives) to reach an agreement before the purse bid. We're trying to see if we can reach an agreement before Friday," said Laguna.

"The promoter of Payano is Mike Tyson through his company Iron Mike Productions. Hopefully we can reach a successful conclusion.

Chemito Moreno has a record of 35 wins (12 KO), two losses and a draw and Payano would mark his 13th defense of the title that he captured from on May 2, 2009, when he defeated Volodymyr Sydorenko. Meanwhile, Payano is undefeated in 15 fights (8 KO).
