Chavez Sr: The Next Great Mexican Champ Will Be Born

According to the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., his son will defeat Sebastian Zbik later tonight to capture the WBC middleweight title at the Staples Center in Los Angeles - and in the process he will become "the new face of Mexican boxing." Many believe the fight involving Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will generate a record rating on Mexican television. Chavez Sr., regarded as the greatest Mexican fighter of all-time, expects his son to carry the torch for the next generation of Mexican boxers.

"On Saturday, the next great Mexican world champion will be born. The new idol of the fans," said Chavez Sr. "He's going to win. He has to be more aggressive and throw eight or even ten shots in a row. I've said and I repeat - on Saturday next great Mexican world champion will be born. The new idol of Mexico."
