WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has no fear of Sergio Martinez, according to the young Mexican champion, but he wants to be properly compensated for a such a fight. Martinez, the mandatory challenger, is looking to fight Chavez by early 2012.

"If [the promoters] make me a good offer, then I'm interested in fighting with Martinez. Why not? I don't fear anybody. It's like this, if you are going to get paid three dollars for a job and paid six for the other, obviously you're going to grab the job that pays six dollars," Chavez said.

The job that pays six dollars, is a mega fight with countryman Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. They respective promoters are currently discussing a possible fight between the two Mexican superstars.

"The Mexican people and the Latinos want that fight. I am willing to fight him. I hope a good agreement is reached between the promoters. I'm still training and I'm ready for whatever," Chavez said.

Chavez defends his WBC title against Peter Manfredo Jr. on November 19th in Texas.

He's not afraid but offers an excuse in the very same sentence, ok. It's like this, I don't see anyone on chavez's resume that would bring him more money than Sergio would.

Chaves Jr should consider getting a REAL job, instead of pretending to be a fighter. He doesn't have to follow in his father's footsteps, esp. if he isn't equipped with his father's talents! Do something else, JR!

Good post......

I agree with this post here. I am so tired of these biased posters on this site. It's good to actually read a post that's more fair. I think MARTINEZ should do the same. I am losing respect for him because he keeps calling out smaller fighters. Every great fighter goes NORTH to challenge themselv...

Arum would never let JCC Jr fight Martinez. I just want the WBC to strip the hypejob so we can stop calling him a champion.
